Monday 3rd March 2025

Tuska and Mike Kushy. With T on surface MK went down to look at the possibility of leaving the blastdoors in the shaft and attaching them to a bolt. It actually turns out they sit quite nicely behind the rebar on their ends, still an eyebolt just above each would prove useful in holding them flat and a back up. With doors secured MK went to the bottom to inspect the damage. Very clear air at the bottom, with no fume smell and a nice hole has appeared which holds no water. Looks like heading 45° down towards the radio location point (which is roughly 10m away) is the sensible way forwards. Next job is to set another charge, aiming for a 2ft wide by 4ft high tunnel. No spoil cleared, there's at least 4 buckets to come out. The mat laid over the charge is fine for more uses and no damage to the blastdoors. 1 hour. Mike.
